The Book I am reading (Most Dangerous By: Steve Sheinkin) is about the secret history of the Vietnam War. It talks about the information that Daniel Ellsberg found in the pentagon that was kept secret from other parts of the government and the world. It explains the decisions that were made about the war and the responses of American Citizens. This book talks about the real stories of the Vietnam War both things that are out lined and clear and those that are fuzzy and mysterious. The main conflict is that Ellsberg knows about secret documents and can't decide if he should tell the world about what he knows. The book ends when he finally tells the NY Times about the information he has found. This book can teach us that the truth will always pull through and that telling the truth is better than keeping something important to your self. After Ellsberg turned in the information he said "I Hope that I will have hastened the start of that process of healing which is so desperately needed in America" (Sheinkin 315). This is important because alot of conflicts can be solved by telling the truth or getting the real information. This book matters because alot of people don't know about the Vietnam War and this book tells us the real stories of what happened during the War. If we remembered all the good that came of Daniel Ellsberg sharing his information we can use these ideas in the future to prevent conflicts. That is why the book Most Dangerous By: Steve Sheinkin matters even to this day.

During the cold war there were a lot of secrets, a lot of things people weren't telling each other, and just a lot of unexplainable things going on. The book I am reading called Most Dangerous By: Steve Sheinkin has a lot of secrets in it, especially about the information that Daniel Ellsberg had. He knew about how parts of the government were keeping things, important things from the hands of others, but was too afraid to tell anyone. The book talks about all of the untold things about what really happened during the Cold War. It also follows the prisoners that were captured in Vietnam through the stories of what happened to them. The events of the Cold War relate a lot to the recent Russian jets and bombers around our coasts. Just like the Cold War there are a lot of secrets involved in this and a lot of things we are questioning and don't know. In fact just a couple of days ago the US Air Force had intercepted advanced Russian fighter jets escorting Cold War-era bombers near Alaska for the first time. According to Trump our relations with Russia are at an all time low and even though he has talked with Vladimir Putin they have not discussed Russian Provocation. These are secrets alike the Cold War that we don't really know exactly what is going on or what is being kept from us.
